My name is Amit Shah. I practice general dentistry at Walled Lake Dental, Commerce Township, MI. A little bit about myself - basically, I am a licensed dentist from India, where I was born & raised. Graduated with my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2004, after which I joined my father in his private practice. Would volunteer my services at community dental clinics & hospitals in my free times. Came to the USA to do my Master of Science in Clinical Dentistry (MS) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, AL. Very shortly, before I graduated with my MS in 2007, I was accepted at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, NE to pursue my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), from which I graduated in 2009 and have been working at Walled Lake Dental since. Have active licenses to practice dentistry in the states of Ohio and Michigan and would like to have a blend of private practice and academics in the future.

My long professional journey witnessed the unfortunate demise of my parents but I am sure they were very content & happy with how I progressed in life at every stage. My father was also a general dentist and practiced for 44 years before he retired. His constant encouragement & inspiration has always motivated me to dream big and work towards achieving it. My mother was very bold & honest, a pious lady and extremely caring & giving. She loved to cook and I guess this is where I get the experimenting culinary skills from. I have an elder sister who's a nutritionist by profession and who's now filling in for mom. My brother-in-law is a computer network architect and one of the finest gentlemen that I have ever met - a philanthropist who strongly believes in the theory of Karma and never fails to provide me valuable advice and suggestions. I have two nephews, which are a bundle of joy to be around. Sad, that I cannot spend enough time with them.

Professionally, I'm very competitive & meticulous. Slog hard but avoid burning out by indulging into music, traveling and community service. Swim and play table-tennis, racquetball & cricket. Being a nature enthusiast & adventurous at heart, I like to go out on hiking trips and visit new places once in a while. And last but not the least, my passion for photography that started as a side hobby as a kid with my father's 35mm film camera, has seen me upgrade to a full DSLR, which I use mostly for my clinical cases but otherwise, I do dabble with random things, nature and portraits. To find out more about me, please visit www.ashahdds.com
